To our customers,
We wanted to share information regarding our voluntary recall of specific lots of Raw Bistro Beef Entrée for Dogs. At the bottom of this page, you’ll find the full recall notice that was emailed directly to customers who received products from these lots.
While only a small number of products are affected, we want to ensure our community has clear, transparent information and confidence in how we’re handling this situation.
Our Commitment to Food Safety
Since Raw Bistro was founded, we’ve been committed to creating real, wholesome food that nourishes dogs as nature intended and we’ve backed that commitment with rigorous safety programs. Every product is made in our own Minnesota kitchen using USDA-inspected meats and organic produce sourced from trusted suppliers.
We maintain a test-and-hold program, meaning no Raw Bistro product is ever released until it has tested negative for pathogens, including Salmonella, Listeria monocytogenes, and E. coli O157:H7.
Our food safety program also includes:
• Ingredient controls: All raw materials come from USDA-inspected and FDA-regulated sources.
• Pathogen control measures: We use validated interventions like peracetic acid (PAA), a widely used antimicrobial in USDA facilities, to reduce bacterial load while preserving nutrition.
• Routine environmental testing: Our facility undergoes daily sanitation and environmental swabbing to verify cleanliness.
• Finished product testing: Every production lot is tested and held until cleared negative by an accredited third-party laboratory.
These safeguards have consistently resulted in negative test results across our internal sampling.
What Happened
The FDA collected samples of Raw Bistro product from a distributor warehouse in Colorado as part of routine monitoring. While our own test results for the same lots were negative for pathogens, the FDA reported one positive finding for Salmonella on a lot of Raw Bistro Beef Entrée for Dogs.
As a result, we are voluntarily recalling the affected lot out of an abundance of caution while we conduct a full internal review.
What We’re Doing
We have launched a thorough investigation into:
• Lot-specific sampling and testing records
• Sanitation and production procedures
• Potential supply chain or handling variables
We are also working with independent food safety experts and regulators to review all data and determine any additional steps that could further strengthen our system.
In addition, inspectors visiting our facility have consistently praised our proactive approach, strong testing programs, and the care we take to produce a safe, high-quality product.
We remain confident in the integrity of our process and are committed to full transparency with our customers.
