Respect is fundamental to our business: respect for you, our customers; for your pets; and for the animals and lands that provide the raw materials. That's why we source our ingredients from family farmers who:
- embrace sustainable farming practices;
- raise and treat their animals humanely;
- never administer hormones or use feed that includes animal by-products, fillers or sub-therapeutic antibiotics;
- process their meats with the utmost care.
Through these practices, we aim to be a part of creating a better world for all.
Raw Bistro is based in Cannon Falls, Minnesota, about an hour south of Minneapolis/St. Paul. We’re fortunate to be in the heart of a thriving sustainable agriculture area, and we’re committed to sourcing all of our ingredients from local or regional producers who share our values of humane and environmentally sound farming practices.
Organic food is food as it was meant to be grown or raised - Non-GMO, free of pesticides, herbicides, etc. Currently, all of the following ingredients we use are organic:
- Vegetables: beets, broccoli, carrots, celery, cucumbers, kale, parsley, red peppers, and spinach
- Fruits: blueberries, cranberries, rasberries, and strawberries
- Other ingredients: apple cider vinegar, coconut oil, and flaxseed
Locally grown foods are fresher and more nutritious, because they spend less time in shipping and storage facilities. Traveling only short distances means they also have a much smaller carbon footprint. Just as important, working with local farmers and ranchers lets us develop personal relationships and be more involved in the production process. We enjoy talking with our suppliers, learning about sustainable food production and watching livestock graze peacefully in the pasture.
When sourcing meat, we work hard to locate Midwest family farms who share our values of humane handling and responsible husbandry through the entire life of the animal. All processing is at the cleanest USDA facilities possible, with stringent, proactive food testing.
100% Grass-fed Beef
Our 100% grass-fed cattle are pasture-raised on Midwest family farms and processed at a state-of-the-art USDA inspected facility in Cannon Falls. Cattle live freely on grass pastures and are never given antibiotics, added hormones or grains - ever!
Our Turkey is free-range during the warmer months and antibiotic free all of the time, so they are allowed to live a natural healthy life. All turkey's are processed naturally -without any additives at a USDA inpected facilty.
Under federal regulations, all poultry must be raised without added hormones. However, we're taking it a step further by sourcing 100% of our chicken from farms that raise them without antibiotics either. Chicken is processed at a USDA inpected facility and air chilled - opposed to the more conventional industry practice of water/chemical immersion.
Our Bison roam the plains and prairies, grazing on wild grasses, sagebrush and other native vegetation. Bison live freely and are never given antibiotics, added hormones or fillers. Just pure, honest red meat with no artificial ingredients processed at a USDA inspected facility.
